About Paw Province

Paw Province helps people live better with dogs, cats, and the animals who turn ordinary days into meaningful ones.

What Paw Province is

Paw Province is an independent editorial publication, not an affiliate content farm. We don’t exist to funnel readers toward the highest-commission product on a comparison table. We write guides, honest gear write-ups, and real stories because we think everyday life with a pet deserves better than recycled listicles and manufactured expertise. If you want the specifics of how that plays out — no fabricated reviews, no fake credentials, real correction dates when we get something wrong — read our Editorial Policy.

Who it’s for

Paw Province is for people who already share, or are about to share, their home with a dog or a cat: first-time adopters trying to get the first week right, longtime owners looking for a better routine, and anyone who’d rather read one honest paragraph than ten paragraphs of padding. We write for the reader standing in their kitchen at 11pm, googling something specific, not for search engines.

Our tone and values

We aim for plain, direct writing over hype. We’d rather say “we’re not sure yet” than invent an authority we don’t have — which is also why our health and behaviour content is framed as general information and lived experience, not individualized veterinary or behavioural advice. See our Medical & Behaviour Content Policy for exactly where that line sits. When Tested & Loved recommends something, the opinion is ours, formed by actually living with the products we write about — not bought or influenced by a brand. If that ever changes for a specific link, we say so before the link, every time; see our Affiliate Disclosure.

Who writes it

Most guides carry the Paw Province Editorial byline — a small team that researches, tests, and reviews together. Founder and editor Alex Moreau edits every guide on the site and writes many of the adoption and living-together pieces. Meet the people behind the site on our Authors page.
