Medical & Behaviour Content Policy
This page explains exactly what our health and behaviour content is — and, just as importantly, what it isn’t.
Please read first
This article shares general information and lived experience, not individual veterinary or behavioural advice. If you’re concerned about your pet’s health or behaviour, please consult a vet or a qualified professional.
What this content is
Where Paw Province articles touch on health, behaviour, or wellbeing, they share general information and lived experience: what worked for us, what a shelter or rescue typically advises, what published welfare guidance says in general terms. It is written to be genuinely useful as a starting point for understanding a situation.
What this content is not
It is not individualized veterinary or behavioural advice for your specific pet. We cannot see, examine, or assess your animal, and no article on this site is written as a substitute for that. We do not diagnose conditions, and we do not prescribe or recommend specific treatments, medications, or training protocols as if they were guaranteed to work for your pet.
Always consult a qualified professional
If you are concerned about your pet’s health, please contact a licensed veterinarian — urgently, if symptoms are severe or sudden. If you are dealing with a behaviour issue that concerns you, especially anything involving aggression, fear, or a sudden change in temperament, please consult a qualified veterinary behaviourist or certified trainer who can actually observe your pet. General articles are not a substitute for that assessment.
Why we frame it this way
We would rather be clear about the limits of what a website can responsibly tell you than imply an authority we don’t have. This is also why we don’t attach invented veterinary or behavioural credentials to any byline — see our Editorial Policy for our full stance on fabricated expertise, and our Authors page for exactly who writes what.
